The Erasmus+ Virtual Exchanges project Advancing Research and Innovation in Higher Education through Virtual Exchanges (ARIVE – ERASMUS-EDU-2025-VIRT-EXCH-101250610) is built on an advanced, structured, and interdisciplinary model of virtual academic collaboration powered by artificial intelligence. This approach directly addresses contemporary challenges such as digital transformation, limited research capacity, and barriers to academic mobility.
The project brings together universities and research organizations from the European Union and Eastern Partnership countries, working collaboratively to develop:
- Virtual Research Semester (VRS) programs;
- Digital mentorship systems;
- Open-access educational resources.
Through a centralized virtual environment, students and early-career researchers will engage in project-based research, AI-driven learning modules, and international, cross-border academic collaboration.
The project will run for three years and focuses on:
- AI-powered research training in data science, machine learning, and in silico methodologies;
- Structured virtual mentorship and capacity-building for academic supervisors;
- Development of interdisciplinary research networks and strengthening skills in preparing EU grant applications;
Increasing the participation of women in STEM, displaced researchers, and other vulnerable groups by ensuring equal opportunities and fostering digital and soft skills.
